The engraving-reliefs on stone ancestral shrines of Wu clan, built from 147 in the period of Eastern Han, are unique in Chinese history both as work of art and testimony. With the style of Engraved painting in which the knife replaces to the brush and the stone to the paper, they reveal a romantic and realistic representation. Illustrating the legends and the documents before Han Dynasty, they show us various figures and social aspects, tell us exciting stories, and offer us a visual past.
